Noida, October 15, 2026: The DP World India Championship 2026 is underway at Delhi Golf Club, with Rory McIlroy, defending champion Tommy Fleetwood and leading Indian golfers competing for a record $4 million prize purse.
We marked the opening day with our India Golf Masterclass, welcoming senior leaders from Defence & Aerospace, Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
The DP World India Championship gives HCLSoftware, the enterprise software division of HCLTech, a world-class platform to bring customers and partners together in India, strengthen relationships and celebrate a shared commitment to progress, on and off the course. With HCLTech as the Official Digital Experience Partner of the DP World Tour, we're honoured to share this stage with our customers.
The experience brought together conversations on Intelligent Operations, featuring our software products — HCL BigFix, HCL AppScan and HCL Domino and Domino IQ for Sovereign Collaboration and AI, HCL BigFix for Intelligent Operations, and HCL AppScan for Application Security, with an opportunity to learn from a golf professional and experience the championship up close.
The DP World India Championship offers a fitting backdrop for the discussion. The DP World Tour brings players from 46 nationalities together under a single rulebook at every venue, in a real-time, data-rich environment where fans expect seamless access across devices and geographies. Sovereignty works the same way: it is defined by who sets the rules, not by where the course is located. For Indian institutions, that makes self-reliance an operational question rather than an aspiration. The test is whether they can run collaboration, operations, security and AI layer on India-owned sovereign infrastructure, under Indian jurisdiction, today and not on a roadmap.
“A global tour runs on one rulebook but plays out differently at every venue. That, to me, is one of the best analogies for enterprise AI," said Kalyan Kumar (KK), President, HCLSoftware. “Golf is a game of precision. You don't win because of one great shot. You win by making good decisions consistently, adapting to the course in front of you, and executing with discipline. Enterprise AI works the same way. You need one common governance model, but it must adapt to local regulations without reinventing itself every time. Build the governance once, to the highest standard, and let every regulator see the view they need. To make that work, enterprises need three integrated pillars: a robust data intelligence platform at the core, resilient operations and cybersecurity software to protect critical workloads, and sovereign applications and software with a choice of deployment across cloud and private infrastructure.”
“The question has moved from ‘where does our technology come from’ to ‘how much control do we need, and where?’” said Dhruv Kohli, VP, India and Middle East, HCLSoftware. “HCLSoftware Intelli-Ops framework comprehensively covers Business-Ops, Cyber-Ops and IT-Ops. This leverages our world-class, Gartner Leader-rated products – HCL BigFix, HCL AppScan, and HCL UNO+ with sovereignty built into the core, giving customers the choice of where to run their software. Our sovereign portfolio is built for regulated environments backed by HCL Domino and Domino IQ for Sovereign Collaboration and AI.”
As part of our commitment to sovereign by design platforms, HCLSoftware and Sify Digital Services launched a fully managed Sovereign AI offering for India in February 2026.
